Three Best Ways to Stay Productive While Facing Pandemic/COVID-19

Three Best Ways to Stay Productive While Facing Pandemic/COVID-19

COVID-19 becomes the worst pandemic in human history. Not only that, This pandemic makes the world in chaotic condition. This pandemic appeared at the end of 2019 in Wuhan China and it spreads easily to all of the world. In fact, from BBC News, the rates of infected people are increasing day by day. Moreover, in Indonesia, the cases of this pandemic on April 2nd are about 1790 cases, 170 people died and 112 people recovered. The rate of the cases are still increasing until now. Because of this, Indonesian government has already made policy to prevent the spreading of this pandemic. In detail, Indonesian government decided to lock down and asked the people to do self quarantine at least for 14 days to stop the spread of COVID-19. Starting from the lock down, all the activities have already stopped in all aspects, such as education, economic, social and so on. As a result, it decreases the productivity of human or even a country. To solve that problem, there are three best ways to stay productive while facing COVID-19.
Firstly, don't be stressful and panic to that condition. As we know, we can't control the spreading of COVID-19 easily because most of us are not doctors or a medical staff that can heal the diseases. Then, the only thing that we can do is stay calm and do not panic or even stress. Panic and stress will lead us to a wrong action such as panic buying, paranoid, and being unproductive. We should stay positive, bring the positive vibes to our environment. Not only that, we can do interesting activities such as watching movies, listening to music, reading a book and not keep our attention to the bad news. As we can see, it will lead us to panic and stress. In fact, after reading, watching, or listening to our favorite things, immediately follow it up with something that boosts our endorphins, makes us feel good, and takes our mind off the stress. Therefore, we don't need to panic or stress, we should do interesting activities that can bring positivity and make us more productive, even if we are in chaotic condition.
Secondly, prioritize our activities. By prioritizing our activities will lead us to be a productive person while facing COVID-19. Prioritizing our activities means 'do less, but do it better'. In addition, when we are at home of course the activity that we can do only for limited activity. Even if we still can go outside but with the closings and cancellations of activities, sporting events, and public venues, it also limits the list of things we are able to do with our time. Because of this, at the moment we know about it, we should do other activities that we can do better. For example, finishing our project / working. In addition, take this time to tackle something we can do that is tied to our business or career goal. Moreover, the constraint of social distancing will give benefits to us. In fact, research shows that adding some sort of limitation can really hone the focus so that we can deeply explore a creative thought. Constraints can direct us to make the best out of what we already have. With constraints, we can dedicate our mental energy to acting more resourcefully. So, we can still be a productive person while facing COVID-19.
Last but not least, stop thinking negatively. This pandemic can be time for us to show our gratitude to God. Many people in this world always think negatively while facing a bad condition. We never think that the bad condition could also be the best time for us to be a wise person and to show our gratitude to God for all of the blessings that we get until now. In fact, thinking negatively will bring bad impact for us during this pandemic. Our brains are wired to hold on to the negative and quickly forget the positive. Neuropsychologist Rick Hanson puts it this way: the brain is like velcro for negative experiences, and teflon for positive ones. This "bias" causes the brain to react strongly to bad news, compared to good news. Moreover, research shows that we need a ratio of positive to negative interactions of five to one in order to thrive because those negative interactions affect us so much more strongly. That's why, when things seem daunting in this trying time, ask yourself: What is the good that will come of this? It is the reminder that our actions have an impact on the rest of the world. Sometimes we have to sacrifice things for ourselves for the good of our community. As a world, we are actively thinking about other people right now. At the end of the day, that's a nice thought to keep hold of, and we can still be a productive person during COVID-19.
Being productive while facing COVID-19 is very important. In this pandemic, we should still be a productive person. Because we still need to fulfill our desires. The moment we can't fulfill our desires of course it will hamper ourselves especially for people around us which are our family. As we know, by supporting the government policy that is to do self quarantine, it doesn't mean we should stop being productive. We should be productive people because it's really important and it will help the government indirectly because we still can provide our own desires without asking the government to provide it. So, being not stress/panic, prioritizing the activity and thinking positively will be very beneficial for us and we will still be a productive person while facing COVID-19.

Hi Syahrizan,

You did a great job. I noticed some minor issues of grammar. No problem. You can improve it later. Apart from that, it seems that you have more than three ideas of how to be productive. Pls double check.
